Documentation is important. I feel that anyone herping should be submitting some kind of data to something. We are disturbing these animals just by being in their forest, and not to mention often times we are rolling the "roof" back on their "house" temporarily. Submitting data just makes it justifiable in our opinion. But I know in the field it can be hard to remember everything you need, especially if you are writing a paper. You may keep a field notebook and want a place to gather your thoughts and totals (like Ty does), and this sheet is a great place for that. We have a mock-up here, to give some examples of what you can do for notes, but the possibilities are endless and there are YOUR notes. Keep them however you like.
